21st AICHYK Conference, Hyderabad: A Report

The 21st Conference of All India CHYK was organized in Hyderabad from 7th to 9th January. The sessions were all organized beautifully in the Dhyana Nilayam where Lord parameswara’s blessings were felt by one and all. The atmosphere added a special glow to the conference sessions.

Inauguration: 11:00 AM on 7th January 2005.

The conference was inaugurated by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji.
Brah. Govind Chaitanyaji in his welcome address stated the imporatance of this conference. Swami Mitranadaji gave the presidential address explaining the activities undertaken in the year 2004 and also mentioned about the work done in consolidating the CHYK after hectic activities of 2003. Swami Chidatmanandaji, Regional Coordinator Chinmaya Mission centers Andhra Pradesh shared his joyous inputs about the preparation for the conference and encouraged the delegates to enjoy through the same.

Pujya Guruji in his message congratulated Hyderabad Chyk for organizing the conference, the stupendous success of the Kerala Chyk camp which surpassed all expectations touching a never before participation of 1356 youngsters from all over Kerala. He also commended the phenomenal success of the first batch of Yuva Veers in their fieldwork. He specially mentioned how he was skeptical about all these three projects and had categorically said so to the organizers of the same but had been proven wrong in all three. He said he was very happy being proven wrong by his children time and again.

Session 1 Pujya Guruji:

In the first session on 7th January Pujya Guruji informed the delegates present about the Structural changes in the AICHYK national team and reinstated the importance of the one Chinmaya Family. These changes which were announced by Pujya Guruji aimed at strengthening the Chinmaya Family further as a whole encompassing all the fields of work.

Session 2:

Pujya Guruji in this session started with the importance of study class and also gave pointers to increase the attendance for the same. Reviewing the curriculum for the Sevak Training Program and the texts for Chyk study classes, Pujya Guruji further explained briefly about the 12 texts. This session saw Guruji explain in brief about the six texts of Junior CHYK study class. The points mentioned by Guruji surprised all of the depth of Guruji’s thought and the approach towards the subject. This gave all the listeners a new idea as to how to look at the text and grasp the whole meaning of it in a nutshell.

Session 3:

This was an exclusive question and answer session dealing with any queries regarding the new structure as described in session one. There were few questions raised by the delegates as to how the CHYK would function in future keeping in view of the changes that are brought in the very functioning of the CHYK. Guruji answered all the questions, pointing to us the vision behind these changes. The session ended with Pujya Guruji’s message for the youth to be Polite, Patient, and Disciplined, as these three are very essential for all the devotees to carry on Pujya Gurudev’s work.

Session 4:

Pujya Guruji gave a brief introduction on the six texts of the senior CHYK study class.
Later Sri C. K. Suresh presented an audio visual report on the mammoth All Kerala Chyk camp giving valuable information to all delegates as to how so many youngsters were motivated to attend the camp. He also commended the role the Kerala Yuva Veers played in getting such a huge participation. This is the first camp in the history of CHYK itself that so many delegates attended for full five days. Altogether there were around 1700 people in the campus including the volunteers. Chinmaya Vidyalaya teachers of Palghat actively participated in serving the delegates through out. The team work of all the Acharyas and Mission members is highly commendable

Session 5:

Yuva Veer’s Rukma & Gaurav presented a audio visual report on the inspiring work being carried out by the Yuva Veers in India and abroad in various fields. The report included the work done by various Yuva Veers and the feedback received from acharyas and senior Mission members who have been guiding the Yuva Veers in their work. Swami Adhyatmanandaji and Sri.C. K. Sureshji who were invited to comment on the YEP and the work done

Valedictory on 9th January 2005

Brah. Govindji briefed the gathering about the happenings during the three day conference. Swami Mitranandaji gave his presidential address. Pujya Guruji delivered the valedictory message. Guruji stressed the need of working together and seeing that all the Chinmaya Mission Centres in India develop their own healthy CHYK groups to serve the youth world.

In the awards ceremony, Kerala region was awarded the Best Region and Swami Adhyatmanandaji and C K Sureshji received the award from Pujya Guruji. The awards are given to the Region for the overall performance of team work and organizing capacities in organizing greater programmes.

All the three days it was a treat to all the listeners to listen to Pujya Guruji talking on “Meditation and Life” which were also meant for the general public.

78 centers from all over India participated in the conference with registrations reaching up to 164. The Conference was blessed by the presence of 26 Acharyas who are associated with the CHYK work in their own places. The presence of Acharyas brought a special glow to the 21st Conference of the All India CHYK.

In the end Hyderabad CHYK proposed vote of thanks followed by Shanti path and pledge. After dinner a camp fire was arranged with a beautiful display of fireworks where all the delegates enjoyed the different colors of different fire works.

As part of their gesture, Hyderabad CHYK had organized a tour of Hyderabad covering a couple of historic places and temples. All the delegates left for their places keeping in their hearts the unforgettable pleasant experiences of the conference with a vision to go ahead with HIS work. May Sri Gurudev guide all of us and strengthen the movement further.


Changes in the structure of All India CHYK are as follows

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda is the Head of the All India CHYK Council
Swami Mitrananda for South Zone, Swami Adwaitanandaji for the North East, Swami Madhavanandaji for Orissa, Brah. Govind Chaitanaya who is transferred to Noida from Chennai will look after the North Zone, Brah. Sattvik Chaitanya will look after the West Zone, and Brah Rishi Chaitanya will take care of Sevak Tranining programme for the chyks through correspondence. State councils have been formed to coordinate the work in different states.
